Assembly Overview
At Merstham Park School, formal year group assemblies are an important part of our SMSC programme and are used to re-enforce our school values, which cohere our school community into one.
Assemblies take place each week in designated afternoon Learning Mentor sessions and are designed around themes with messages and key words, which are often followed up in Learning Mentor time discussions and during timetabled subject lessons. Assemblies are used to embed the teaching of British Values and are engaging, thought provoking and involve students wherever possible.
