GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Our Founding Headteacher, Mr Beard

It was with great sorrow that our founding Headteacher, Mr Martin Beard, passed away on Friday 17 January 2020. This came as a terrible shock to us all, and the school and the GLF Schools Trust community were heartbroken to have lost such a gifted, kind and popular man who had such a profound impact on the lives of the children and colleagues in all the schools in which he worked. 

We were privileged to know and work with Mr Beard and as a mark of permanent respect, our new home has a Memorial Garden dedicated to him where students, staff and the wider community are able to take some time out, reflect and remember.
