Yvonne Arnaud Theatre - 60th birthday celebrations

Merstham Park School was honoured to be invited as special guests to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre’s 60th birthday celebrations. Mrs Eckersall accompanied five of our GCSE Drama students who proudly represented the school at an exclusive meet-and-greet with HRH Prince Edward. They spoke with confidence about our Young Creatives partnership with the theatre and about the Arts Award, which is generously funded by the theatre.

Following this memorable experience, our students joined the audience for a spectacular variety performance compered by Gyles Brandreth, with performances from distinguished actors including Dame Penelope Keith and Patricia Hodge. The evening was a fitting celebration of the theatre’s remarkable legacy and a wonderful reminder of the opportunities the arts create for young people in our community.
