There was a huge celebration this week on the site of our new home: the last of the 178 modules was put into place. What content does this cover?

Section A: Reading (40 marks)

  • One literature fiction text (e.g., a novel or short story) is provided.

  • Students answer questions based on comprehension, inference, language analysis, and evaluation.

 

Section B: Writing (40 marks)

  • Students are given a choice of two writing tasks.

  • They may choose descriptive or narrative writing, with a response to a visual stimulus or given title.

  • Assessment focuses on engagement of reader, content, use of structure, writing techniques and accuracy of language.

  • Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar (SPaG) is worth 20/40 marks

What content does this cover?

  • Two non fiction texts provided(linked by theme on ) 19th & 20th C texts..

  • Students answer questions based on comprehension, inference, language analysis, and evaluation.

 

Section B: Writing (40 marks)

  • Students are given one writing task.

  • Assessment focuses explain a point of view on a specific issue. Focus on engagement of reader, content, use of structure, writing techniques and accuracy of language.

  • Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar (SPaG) is worth 20/40 marks
